PRESS RELEASE - April 16th 2011
Where mini golf gets a whole new dimension
Black-light links and 'Balladium' make a fun outing in Bells Corners
WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE PLACE?
It's Ottawa's only 3-D blacklight 18-hole mini golf course with three glow-in-the-dark themes: pirate ship, jungle and underwater. When you wear the 3-D glasses, the wall murals, zany patterned carpet and neon-coloured faux brick curbs by each hole take on a whole different dimension.
IS IT SCARY?
Not scary, but it does have a dizzying effect, especially when you're trying to putt a little golf ball through a shark's mouth or under a giant gorilla into a hole at the far end of the course. It can make it difficult to focus. You likely won't make it through all 18 holes with the glasses on.
ARE THE GLASSES MANDATORY?
No, they're optional and the place is cool even without them. But with the shades on, you'll spot creatures lurking under leafy trees, floating along the ceiling and springing off the walls that you wouldn't see without them.
